NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

The Oneida City Police Department will assist and instruct those interested in forming a neighborhood watch group. Basically the program is about neighbors looking out for one another and reporting anything suspicious. The program also assists in passing information back and forth between the police and the community.

Anyone interested in forming a neighborhood watch group in Oneida or anyone wanting more information can call the Oneida City Police Department at 363-9111, Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The police deparment will assist in intructing on how to start a group, inviting members, having a meeting and will speak at meetings on neighborhood watch, neighborhood concerns or crime prevention.

Watch groups will be instructed on how to keep a watch in their neighborhood and assist members in getting to know their neighbors and neighborhood better. Instruction on observing suspicious behavior, tips on what to look for and what to do is something suspicious is observed.

Information on crime prevention in the neighborhood and the community will be provided and neighborhood problems addressed.
