Marriage License
1. General Information
License may be obtained
from any city/village/town clerk in NYS
A. License is filed in the city/village/town in which it was purchased, not where you were married
B. License is valid throughout NYS for a total of 60 days
C. Legal age to obtain license is 18 without consent of parent or guardian
D. License fee is $40.00
E. License is not valid for the first 24 hours after time it was purchased
F. Blood tests are no longer required to obtain the license
G. Information regarding previous marriages must be furnished in the application. This includes whether the former spouse is living, and whether the applicants are divorced ,if so, when/ where/and against whom the divorce was granted. Divorce papers that have been signed by a judge and filed with the County Clerk must be show for every divorce action listed.
2. Applying for a marriage license
A. Both applicants must be present
B. Need divorce and/or annulment papers from each and every previous marriage
C. Must supply photo I.D. and certified copy of birth certificate.
D. Marriage license may be obtained from the Oneida City Clerk’s office 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bingo & Games of Chance
Organizations are required by State Law to obtain a license to conduct bingo and games of chance in the City of Oneida. Theses organizations must be authorized by NYS to hold these games on various days of the week in the City.
The City retains 3% of the net profits for each occasion and submits an annual report to the NYS Racing & Wagering Board.
